Questions about the CSI.
The answers below explain the index, its publication status and the evidence needed to examine a result.
The CSI combines 9 benchmarks under an explicit methodology. A current production value requires a complete accepted release; the website does not substitute an earlier or illustrative reading when that release is absent. Historical records remain available for examination under their stated methodology and evidence status. Reproducing a selected snapshot depends on the same methodology, source registry, baselines and permitted source bundle. The research library links to those resources, and the contact page explains how to submit a documented correction.
Common research questions.
- What is the CSI?
- The Composite Sustainability Index is a weighted composition of nine first-class sub-indexes covering animal-agriculture pressures and consumer transition.
- When is the current value available?
- The website displays a current value only when a complete accepted csi-v1.2.0 release passes the canonical evidence reader. It does not substitute an old or illustrative value.
- Are historical records still useful?
- Yes. They support examination of the exact historical snapshot and methodology stated in the record. They are not current production certification.
- Can I reproduce a result?
- Open the reproduction and verification resources for the selected snapshot. Reproducibility depends on the same methodology, source registry, baselines and permitted source bundle.
- What is a reporting lens?
- A lens is a filtered view of a benchmark, such as a country or species. It does not become an additional member of the CSI.
- How do I report an error?
- Use the contact page and include the page address, period, methodology version and supporting source material.
